Failey has over 16 years of diverse educational experience in Central Texas with her back to Manor ISD. From 2008 – 2011, Failey served Manor ISD as the District’s K-8 mathematics specialist and as assistant principal at Decker Middle School. Since then, she has been serving Austin ISD as an academy director at Kealing Middle School. Failey also serves as an adjunct adult education professor for Huston-Tillotson University’s Alternative Certification program.
In order to improve student outcomes and ensure student success, Failey’s goals are to implement effective and efficient systems, provide professional development with a focus on cultural proficiency and inclusion, and ensure rigor and relevance throughout the campus.
Failey earned a bachelor’s of arts in accounting from Huston-Tillotson, a master’s of education in educational leadership from Concordia, and is expecting to complete her doctor of philosophy in K-12 educational leadership from Capella University in December 2016.
